Simply put, an advance fee scam is where a victim is promised goods or money but they are required to send money first to cover certain “fees” that will be incurred before the product or cash can be released.

Depending on the scam, a victim maybe made to make more and more cash deposits as further “issues” arise in the transaction.

There is, of course, no pot of gold to be had.
